籌建大灣區(qū)大學是貫徹落實《粵港澳大灣區(qū)發(fā)展規(guī)劃綱要》的重大戰(zhàn)略舉措。大灣區(qū)大學是由廣東省人民政府舉辦、東莞市政府投入保障為主的公辦普通高等學校。

　　The establishment of the Great Bay University (GBU) is a major strategic initiative under the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. GBU is a public institution of higher learning sponsored by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, with substantial support from the Dongguan Municipal People’s Government.

　　辦學定位 Positioning

　　學校立足粵港澳大灣區(qū)，面向全中國，輻射全世界，以理工為主、精理強工，致力于辦成一所“國際水準、開放包容、灣區(qū)特色”，能引領(lǐng)未來科技發(fā)展、產(chǎn)業(yè)升級和社會進步的新型研究型大學。

　　Rooted in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), GBU aims to serve the whole of China and extend its influence globally. We focus primarily on science and engineering subjects, striving to become a new type of research university that meets international standards, embraces openness and inclusiveness, and features distinctive regional characteristics. GBU is dedicated to leading future developments in science and technology, industrial upgrades, and social progress.

　　培養(yǎng)目標 Training Objectives

　　學校以“基礎(chǔ)扎實、視野開闊、知行合一、融會貫通”為目標追求，聚焦物質(zhì)科學、先進工程、生命科學、信息科學技術(shù)、理學、金融管理等6個領(lǐng)域，培養(yǎng)具備創(chuàng)新思維、全球視野，具備家國情懷和終身學習能力，具備解決復雜問題和創(chuàng)新實踐能力的高水平創(chuàng)新型人才。

　　Robust academic foundation, broad horizon, unity of knowing and doing, and integration of disciplines are the goals that GBU pursues. With a focus on six directions, i.e. physical sciences, advanced engineering, life sciences, information science technology, sciences, and finance management, GBU is committed to nurturing high-level innovative talents with creative thinking, a global view, patriotism, and the abilities to learn for life, tackle complex problems and innovate in practice.

　　辦學規(guī)模 University Scale

　　學校開展全日制本科和研究生教育，形成本碩博貫通式培養(yǎng)體系，預計2034年達到在校生10000人左右，本科生與研究生規(guī)模比例預計達1:1左右。

　　GBU provides full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programs with a through training system covering bachelors, masters and doctors. By 2034, it is expected to accommodate about 10,000 students, with an anticipated ratio of undergraduates to graduate students of approximately 1:1.

　　學生培養(yǎng) Student Cultivation

　　針對本科生，首批設置數(shù)學與應用數(shù)學、物理學、計算機科學與技術(shù)、材料科學與工程和工業(yè)工程等5個本科專業(yè)，實行大類招生，分類培養(yǎng)，并對理學和工學等學科門類制定差異化的人才培養(yǎng)方案。

　　For our inaugural batch of undergraduate programs, we have introduced majors in mathematics & applied mathematics, physics, computer science & technology, materials science & engineering, and industrial engineering. GBU employs a broad-based admission strategy, followed by specialized training, and has developed differentiated talent development plans for disciplines such as physical and engineering sciences.

　　針對研究生，按照先期開辦學科方向開展先導培養(yǎng)，已與中山大學、哈爾濱工業(yè)大學(深圳)、南方科技大學、深圳大學、廣州大學等高校聯(lián)合培養(yǎng)碩士、博士共計100余人，并同步推進與北京大學深圳研究生院、香港中文大學、香港科技大學、澳門大學等高校開展聯(lián)合培養(yǎng)博士研究生工作。

　　For postgraduate students, GBU has initiated a pilot training program in selected disciplines. We have collaborated with prestigious institutions such as Sun Yat-sen University, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen University, and Guangzhou University to jointly train over 100 masters and doctoral students. Meanwhile, we are advancing collaborative doctoral training efforts with the Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the University of Macau.

　　校園建設 Campus Construction

　　按照“一校兩區(qū)”開展規(guī)劃建設，總占地面積約2356畝，總建筑面積約100萬平方米。其中松山湖校區(qū)256畝，濱海灣校區(qū)2100畝，兩校區(qū)共同承載“教育教學”“科教產(chǎn)融合”“國際合作”三大功能。

　　As planned, GBU has two campuses covering a total land area of approximately 2,356 mu and a built area of about 1 million square meters, including the 256-mu Songshan Lake Campus and the 2,100-mu Binhaiwan Bay Campus. Both campuses collectively support three major functions: education & teaching, research-education-industry integration, and international cooperation.

　　松山湖校區(qū)主要建設與綜合性國家科學中心有關(guān)的大科學裝置、新型研發(fā)機構(gòu)融合辦學的學科領(lǐng)域，設立相關(guān)領(lǐng)域研究院和科研平臺，同時滿足辦學初期需求。

　　Songshan Lake Campus mainly focuses on constructing disciplines that take full advantage of the large-scale scientific facilities and new R&D institutions related to the GBA Comprehensive National Science Center, sets up relevant field-specific research institutes and scientific platforms, and serves to meet GBU’s early-stage demands.

　　濱海灣校區(qū)同步啟動，主要滿足本科生和研究生培養(yǎng)、產(chǎn)學研合作和國際合作、創(chuàng)新創(chuàng)業(yè)孵化以及行政辦公等。

　　Binhaiwan Bay Campus, developed concurrently, primarily caters to undergraduate and graduate education, facilitates industry-university-research collaboration and international cooperation, supports innovation and entrepreneurship incubation, and provides administrative offices.
